If you happened to wander under the I-95 overpass in downtown Providence between 4am and 8am last Friday night, you probably said to yourself, “Hey self, aren’t those GrooveBoston vehicles over there between all those circus trucks?” Well it’s true. Nestled in cargo, between elephant carriers and clown mobiles, the GB gear was catching some shuteye after kicking off a BIG weekend. The crew was resting up too, but in a more comfortable fashion, 11 floors higher.

Just a few hours earlier, it was a very different story: the Seniors at Roger Dubbs (that’s GB slang for “Roger Williams”) celebrated their Commencement Ball with a high class, crazy dance party.

Joining forces with Future Affairs (a RI-based event company) , the stage set featured some very cool scenic elements, including glowing cubes — cool.

While one GB crew rocked the ballroom at the Rhode Island Convention Center, another one was spinning a bit closer to home, for BC’s Athletics Banquet after-party. The team reconvened at GB on Saturday morning to regroup and prep, then headed off to Albany for a special appearance.

A busy couple of days, and a lot of driving — Luckily, I was able to find plenty of Miley Cyrus remixes to keep spirits up in the car. Above all, a great weekend.
