While most people wrapped up the work week last Friday, things were just heating up in the land of GrooveBoston. Armed with iced coffee and french toast twists (delicious!), the team began packing gear for three — yes, THREE — Friday events.

Ben and Springer headed north to Endicott to kick of Halloween weekend in style, while Jordan (freshly imported from NYC) and Louis (our newest team member!) headed to BHS for a homecoming dance. Me, I headed to Scituate, for a classy charity auction. Somehow, we managed to get all the right gear to all the right places, and all three events went off without a hitch.

After loading out and resting up for a few hours, we reconvened at GB to load up a BIG system for BU. The rain was coming down hard and sideways in the crazy wind, but by noon, we were back on the road, heading into the big city.

With the help of a small army of volunteers, we worked with Strand Sound to put together an AMAZING multi-level live show/dance party rig. The doors opened at 10pm, and within an hour, the place was packed with BU students in all sorts of costumes. The Masquerade Ball was officially back. After a two-hour opening set, we took a break while Phantom Planet (yes, the guys that sing the theme song from The OC) played from 12-1am, and then we returned to close out the event with an hour of all-out dance party craziness. Thanks for coming out BU — we had a great time!

We got back to the GB office in the wee hours of the morning, and crashed there before heading our seperate ways to rest up before focusing on our fifth and final event of the weekend: MCPHS Halloween Party at Bill’s Bar on Landsdowne Street.

There’s no question about it. We were pumped for this one. A great venue, an easy load-in, and a thousand of our favorite Pharmacists: Perfect! Our club set built up steadily, and we used the opportunity to explore some new music, as well as some of the classics — California Love, Back That Ass Up, etc.. By last call, the place was bumpin’, and by 2am, that place was so hot it seemed the room itself was sweating. Figuratively, of course. But seriously, it was pretty hot in there temerature-wise too, but that’s not what this blog is about. I’m talking about the dance party hotness.

Bottom line, GREAT weekend, GREAT events. Thank you to everyone who came out!
